Pedram Karimi
Just when we thought we’d have to host a farewell ceremony in honor of the beloved crop top, Karimi reassured us that the crop top will make a reappearance on the trend radar for the Spring/Summer 14’ season but not as its traditional boxy t-shirt form. Karimi’s version of the SS14 crop top is taking things to greater lengths, literally. The crop cape, if you will, made its official debut on the runway for Karmini’s PEDRAM collection and oddly enough, it was worn as a unisex piece.
Karimi’s SS14 collection was inspired by the spirit of youth and embodied through a soft color palette of beige and white tones accentuated with blue gladiator sandals. Karimi’s designs were effortless yet artistic with a motive for teen spirit.
Christian Chenail
Did Chenail subliminally seat belt us into a time machine or did he just bring the 50’s back to life again? We swear Grace Kelly’s ghost must have been hiding somewhere in the audience applauding in utter joy. As Chenail conducted a plethora of printed suits, cigarette pants, A-line skirts and off the shoulder shirts down the runway, the essence of femininity graced the room.
Chenail’s Muse Par collection embodied the innocence and romanticism of a 1950’s starlet by combining iconic vintage trends with a modern edge. The collection was a dynamic interpretation of Grace Kelly meets January Jones. It might be way before our time, but playing dress-up and pretending to time travel back to the 50’s era is just as fun.
Body Bag by Jude
As we enter into the grueling months of sub zero temperatures, the Body Bag show was the temporary mental vacation we needed to get our minds back to dreaming of summer. Jude’s latest Body Bag collection set the tone for what’s to come for SS14 beachy vibes. We fell in love with the striped maxi dresses that graced our presence, but couldn’t help to be distracted by the chiseled shirtless males that also strutted down the runway.
The Body Bag collection is the perfect combination of summer color palettes and chic silhouettes. Jude’s designs were built with versatility for a variety of occasions, focusing on wardrobe pieces that are double-date compatible for the office and the beach.
