Pavoni: It’s all about the Red Carpet

Canadian fashion house Pavoni ended Fashion Week with a bang last night- literally! Designer twosome Derderian & Gianni Falcone undoubtedly owned the night. As the models lined the runway for their final walk, an explosion of confetti rained over them in celebration of not only a jaw-dropping collection, but also a great week of fashion.
Following last season’s showing, it only made sense for Pavoni to close World MasterCard Fashion Week, and they did not disappoint. Their collection was an inspired success. A series of red-carpet-ready dresses made their way down the runway, much to the approval of the audience. Nude and neutral tones were met with a splash of ox blood red (a colour that was dominant in collections at New York Fashion Week), mauve, and classic black. Sheer fabrics and lace were detailed with jewel and bead encrusting, combining elegance and class. The romantic, and very cohesive, collection was a celebration of the female silhouette. Minidresses, gowns, and lace leggings were intricately designed and proved that it’s all in the detail.

Pavoni is to Toronto Fashion Week what Marc Jacobs is to New York Fashion Week. With this collection, they have proven, once again, that they are a force to be reckoned with. With A-list celebrities such as: Mariah Carey, Carrie Underwood, and Kylie Minogue already wearing Pavoni, it’s only a matter of time before this designer duo becomes the next big thing in Fashion.
