Stephan Caras is no stranger to fashion. Having shown his collections at numerous international events, Caras has garnered a reputation as one of the world’s best and most beloved fashion designers. With high expectations and much excitement surrounding his Toronto showing, Caras did not fail to impress.
White dominated the runway for this season’s seemingly bridal-inspired collection. Lace, chiffon, silk, and pearls created an almost Madonna à la ‘Like a Virgin’ feel, only much, much classier, of course. Open backs and plunging necklines added sensuality to long gowns and sculpted dresses.
In a statement on his official website, Caras explains: “This collection focuses on timeless elegance. A woman exudes an innate confidence and femininity when she wears clothes that flatter her shape and highlight a natural radiance. I want women to feel beautiful in my pieces so I’ve designed them to be both sensual and practical.”
Caras succeeded with his vision, for as he walked onto the runway to take his bow, he received the ultimate stamp of approval: a standing ovation.
